Gentle Movement

I had the pleasure of taking some new people through the seated gentle movement class online last week (hello if you’re reading!) and got some lovely feedback about how they felt afterwards. The class continues on each Wednesday and I’ve added a Saturday morning one for anyone who’d like to ease into the weekend with some chilled out stretching (PJs welcome) – you can book in here.

If you’re looking to add a little more gentle movement into your week, consider trying some of these options out, and notice how you feel before, during and afterwards:

  • Scrunching and lifting your toes before getting out of bed (or while you’re on the couch or at your desk)
  • In a chair, leaning side to side, and then stretching up towards the ceiling and then letting your arms make a snow angel down to your sides and repeat
  • Gently looking over each shoulder to get your neck moving
  • Lifting one shoulder while lowering the other, alternating for as long as feels good
  • Opening your arms out into a T-shape and wiggling your fingers
  • Lying on your back with your knees bent, and letting your knees flop from side to side
  • Giving your body a good old fashioned wiggle out

I’d love to hear how you go!

Warm regards,
Shelley
